More Choices For Due Date

Postby JimGoshorn » Sun Mar 18, 2012 11:15 pm

Hi,

I am new to the app and so far, I can't see a way to do this. What I wanted to do was create a todo for daylight savings time. This would require me to set the due date for the first todo as the second Sunday in March for turning clocks ahead and for the second todo the first Sunday in November for turning clocks back and then specify yearly as the recurring setting for each todo. I found on due dates, you can specify a recurring criteria like the second Sunday but it is presumed to be every month instead of being able to set a specific month. The date choices need just a little more finessing.

Next, the start date assumes a date for this year but what if the starting and due dates are both in another year?

Thanks!

Yes, sort of but it would require adjusting the todo's as the dates would change each year.

As far as call for the feature, I checked out these requests in Things last night after sending the request in to see if that app does it and it does. Starting dates can be for any year and you can specify ending dates in many ways. The Mac desktop version runs in demo mode for 15 days so if you want to check out how Things does it you can check it out.

I would think that the developers would want to stay comparable in features, so making very flexible date settings would be high on their priority list. They already have a really nice interface in 2Do but the whole point of having a todo app is to be able to set todo's the way you need to be reminded.

Thanks again for your assistance and I really do hope increased date flexibility will be implemented.
