Show next subtask instead of project name in the main view..

...and only mark the subtasks as done when marking the entry.

Hi,

I use projects with tasks that are connected and where only one tasks needs to be shown at the same moment. One 'simple' example would be migrating to a new computer. I would have following subtasks:

    (1) making backup of old hard drive
    (2) format hdd and install new OS
    (3) migrate data from the back up disk to the new OS.

As there is no point in formating the hdd before I made the backup, there is now need for the 2do to show me this tasks before I marked 'making the backup' as done. Another example would be, that I first have to ask somebody for some information, before I can start with another tasks that follows from the data.

So I am asking for the possibility to see the active subtasks in my main view, instead of a list of project names, where I have to select every project manually to see what to do next.

Please tell me, if I overlooked something!

I'm assuming this feature is not going to be added, per the rationale posted above, but here's why it should:

I need to see what subtasks are due today - sorted by priority. This doesn't let me do that. It sorts priority by project. This is a huge flaw. What if I have a low priority project with a high priority subtask due today? Well, that high priority subtask will be lost somewhere at the bottom of the list of projects. What if I have a high priority project with a low priority subtask today? It will be right at the top. So, in effect, subtask priorities are mostly worthless (aside from viewing w/in a project).

And the suggestion of a separate tab for each project is just not practical. I have 60 projects right now and can't check everyone everyday. In other words, it doesn't scale.

So, either we should be able to see all subtasks in a list (TaskUnifier on Mac accomplishes this via removing an "indent tasks" option) or a simpler fix would be to have the project order determined by the soonest due subtask's priority.

Does this make sense? Is there a feature that I'm missing that accounts for this functionality?
