Local Alerts not working in OS 3.0

Postby amunda » Tue Oct 05, 2010 3:58 am

I don't see any 2Do under setting in Settings -> Notifications, and when i go to set the notifications, it says at the bottom that the Notification are OFF by Device settings. Can you please help me out to enable local notification on OS 3.0.

JazakAllah and Thank you.

I am also having issues with notifications since upgrading to 2.2.1. I have Notifications set to "on", and haven't changed any settings in 2Do. However, all alerts (sound or message) inside the program are marked with a crossout, and these alerts do not function. I am running OS 3.1.3

Reading up in the FAQ tells me the crossout feature is something only seen in 2Do Lite. However, I am running the full version of 2Do, and cannot get these alerts to function. Again, this is only since upgrading last week.

I need to correct this problem... SOON.

It looks like Push Notifications are not working at the moment on the iPad. When checking the alert section under settings, it shows the device as registered but the APNS Token is listed as (NULL) which would seem to indicate that the 2Do push server is not registering devices. If I turn the setting from on to off and then back to on again, it tells me that it was unable to register my device. Since the device can not register for alerts, all of the alerts appear crossed out. I don't know if this is a temporary problem with their notification server or if it is a bug in the actual app itself.

Yeah, i am experiencing exactly the same problem as "otakuon" mentioned even though i am using iphone OS 3.0. Can you please let us know about the status? This was one of the chief reason I bought this app.

We are looking into this and the next update should hopefully resolve this. Many thanks.

Just downloaded the latest version, sound and pop-up notification are still not working. Anything idea when this might get resolved? Otherwise, the software is pretty amazing. The iPad version is pretty much perfect. Great job guys!

The reminder function urgently needs a fixing. What good is a reminder if you have to remind yourelf to check it?

Feel very let down by this App. Alarms still not working and no indication of when we can expect a fix. Come on guys before people fall out with this app tell us approximately when we can expect a fix

I have the exact problem. I can get a registration and then the token will connect (changed from null) when I turn push alerts from on to off and then back on again. But as soon as I close the app, it loses that token and registration. This disables all alarms, and that is the reason I bought the full version of this app. I have been a loyal user for some time, but my loyalty is fading. Please fix.

Thanks! Other than this, wonderful app!

What's more disappointing than Push Notifications not working is the failure of GW to respond publicly.

BTW, local alerts aren't available for iOS 3.x. Y'all are talking about Push Notifications.

Is anyone from support looking into this? if not i would rather moved my data from this app, its really unfair to advertise about something and then dont provide this feature, if things dont work then atleast dont advertise about push notifications.

Push notifications did work previously. My guess is that GW's notification server is screwed up -- the server for another of my push notification services had a problem that was fixed today. If that's the case, then there's nothing wrong with the app.

I'd suggest that affected users follow the instructions given by GW, including the instruction to send them your device's UDID when all else fails.

Update: I didn't wait long enough before posting this message otherwise I'd have mentioned then that push notifications are once again working for me. No idea what changed.

I have followed all suggestions listed. Have emailed the 'help desk' twice sending of the diagnostic file. For some reason as soon as I close the app the token resets to null even tho it states I am registered. I switch push off then on again. Token re appears. Switch app off then on again and token reset to null again.... Ad nauseum never been motivated to write a negative review before but after relying on this app for some really importent appointments/ meetings only to be let down. I seriously am not happy. As is, this application is not fit for purpose
