Backup Question

Just curious, when you go into the settings for Manage Auto Backups, you are given the option of recovering from one of the last 20 backups but there are a total of 30 stored. Why are 30 there if you can only choose one of twenty?

As a request, would it be possible to have the number of stored backups be determined by the user? For me, I don't need that many backups and would be happy with five to ten maximum.
